Electrical Apprentice Places 2nd at ABC National Craft Competition Percy Manuel
of Watson Electrical won the Silver Medal in the ABC NationalCraft Championship
competition in San Diego. The competition is held in conjunction
with the ABC National Convention. The National Craft Championships are composed
of fourth year apprentices from all over the country. The two-day competition,
in thirteen different trades, covers both a written exam and a practical hands-on
project test. “A true honor to be recognized as being one of the best in the country in your trade,” said Doug Carlson, ABC Carolinas President & CEO. “The National Craft Championships are like the Olympics for the Construction Industry. Winning a Silver Medal is an incredible accomplishment. ” Manuel qualified for the competition by winning the North Carolina Electrical Apprenticeship Contest hosted by the North Carolina Department of Labor in October. Manuel’s trip to the National Competition was funded by the Bill Boyette Fund, CECA’s Educational Fund named in memory of Watson Electrical’s long time president who believed very strongly in training and education. A portion of the proceeds from CECA’s Spring and Fall Golf Tournaments goes to the Bill Boyette Fund to fund events such as this. Congratulations to Percy and Watson Electrical!!!!!

CECA was well represented at the 24th Annual
NC Electrical Apprentice Contest at  the NC State Fair. CECA Members took 4 of the top 10 places. Special Congratulations to Watson Electrical Construction Co. for having all 3 of their apprentices place in the top 10. CECA Member Apprentices in the top 10:1st place Christopher Januzys – Watson Electrical, 2nd place Percy Manuel – Watson Electrical, 8th place Johnny Mosteller, Jr. – Starr Electric, 10th place Jerry Wyrick – Watson Electrical CECA Members had 11 of the 32 apprentices in the contest. Additionally nearly all of the prizes were given by CECA member companies. |

At
the 23rd Annual Apprentice Contest at the NC State Fair in Raleigh CECA was well
represented by apprentices from Watson Electrical Construction,

was very well represented at the 22nd Annual Apprentice Contest at the NC State
Fair in Raleigh On October 18th, 2006. Out of 27 Apprentices in the contest 14 of them were from CECA member companies. CECA Companies represented included: Bryant-Durham, Hinson Electric, Starr Electric and Watson Electrical Construction. CECA member companies took 5 of the top 10 slots including Joshua Leo who placed 2nd and Jonathan Spargo who is the 2006 Electrical Contest Winner, both are with Watson Electrical Construction Co., LLC.
